Puerto Libertad is located in the municipality of Pitiquito, 125 miles south of Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco) along the coastal highway, and 156 miles northwest of Hermosillo (the state capital), in a large valley surrounded by mountains. (Latitud 29°55'ON Longitud 112°43'OW). It is a small town with a population of 3500, and has all of the public utilities and services, necessary for a town of its size and the casual visitor.
